Ticks and Fleas

Having dogs doesn’t always mean a nice and fun way of living. Sure, it brings so much joy when we play with them, a simple look at their innocent eyes and goofy smile gives us a warm feeling, if you ignore the barking part.

They are also great companion. Some people acquire dogs to guard their house or to provide emotional support. Although these may sound lovely, at the end of the day we have to take care of them, and this is where the downside comes in.

Feeding, bathing, and taking care of them are just some of the responsibilities we have as dog or pet owners. But little did I know that despite these, there’s something else that we have to look out for as well. Ticks and fleas.

Over two weeks ago, my dog Bogart had a tick and fleas infestation. It had gotten so bad to the point that the pests were found almost everywhere in the house. Crawling on the floor, the walls, seats, and mostly in the living room. It surely is scary and disgusting. I had to check my dog to see if something happened to him, especially if there were open wounds or patches. Luckily he didn’t have any, just a massive amount of ticks lurking between his toes and several fleas crawling around his body.

My family got Bogart as a rescue 10 months ago and this is the first time it happened. As my brother’s and I initial reaction, we tried to remove the pests by ourselves until we noticed the blood and his whimpers. We immediately stopped removing the pests and bathed him right after.

I have thought of finding ways to solve this issue and that’s when I saw a product online. Thinking that it’s supposed to do what its name says, I ordered it right away. Fortunately, it works very well. Within the day, we were able to notice the difference. The active and crazy Bogart has come back, and the pests are gone clearly in the house.

Taking care of dogs may have downsides but it doesn’t mean that it won’t be fun anymore. As long as we’ll be able to provide a solution in every downside we encounter, we’ll be able to live a happy life with them.
